Sandra Sue Ellefritz Ewing, 37, of rural Tennessee, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, in Memorial Medical Center at Springfield as a result of a fire Oct. 13.
She was born Feb. 28, 1957, at Carthage, the daughter of Kenneth and Virginia Buss Ellefritz. She married G. Paul Ewing Feb. 25, 1987, at Carthage. He survives.
She is also survived by her mother of Carthage; one brother, Larry Ellefritz of Carthage; and one sister, Linda Schmudlach of Carthage.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1969 and one brother in 1946.
Mrs. Ewing was a lifetime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Carthage where she was very active in the vacation church school and the alter guild. She was also a member of the Carthage V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She attended elementary school and high school in Carthage, graduating in 1974. She had been employed at Robert Morris College in Carthage and later the Carthage International College.
Funeral services were held Friday in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Carthage with the Rev. John Meyer officiating. Burial was in the McKay Cemetery east of Burnside.
