ALBERT ELLEFRITZ

Sept. 30, 1910 -- Jan. 19, 1994

Albert Ellefritz, 83, of Colchester, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Memorial Hospital in Springfield.

He was born Sept. 30, 1910, in Burnside, the son of Carlos and Lucy Mort Ellefritz.  He married Mamie Protsman Feb. 19, 1947, in Hamilton.  She survives.

He is also survived by two daughters, Alice King of Macomb and Leona Walker of Keokuk, Iowa; and a grandson, Billy Walker of Keokuk, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, five sisters, one daughter and one granddaughter.

Mr. Ellefritz lived in Carthage until moving to Rushville and then to Colchester three years ago.  He was employed by the Halk Hatchery for 13 years and then by Lee Cravens for 20 years.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945.  He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of V.F.W. Post 5117 at Carthage.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Dejong-Neiser Funeral Home in Carthage with the Rev. Stuart Jamison officiating.  Burial with Military Rites was held in the McKay Cemetery near Burnside.
