KAHOKA, Mo. -- Kenneth C. Egley, 71, of Kahoka, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2006, at his home.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk.

KAHOKA, Mo. -- Kenneth Carl Egley, 71, of Kahoka, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at his home.

He was born on Oct. 12, 1935, in Rock Island, Ill., the son of George Lewis and Mary Alice Ross Egley.

He was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Hobb in August 1970 in Quincy, Ill.  She survives.

Additional survivors include: a sister Janet Haage and her husband, Delbert, of Keokuk; two brothers, Pete Egley and his wife, Janet, of Keokuk, and Robert Egley and his wife, Barbara, of St. Francisville, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Connie Bonser and her husband, Dwayne, of Keokuk; a brother-in-law, Wallace Bryant Jr., of Wayland, Mo.; his mother-in-law, Madeline Bryant of Alexandria, Mo.; nieces, Tricia Cannon, Barbara Briggs and Peggy Tweedy; nephews, Ed Haage, Pete Egley Jr., Bob Egley, Todd Egley, Carl Benge and Roger Egley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother John Ross Egley.

He attended two years at Hannibal LaGrange College in Hannibal, Mo.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retiring in 1977 after 20 years of service.  He then worked at Riverside Plastics in Bonaparte and retired from there in 2000.

He enjoyed woodworking, working with his hands and putting together models.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, Mo., with Dr. Rick Seaton officiating.

Burial will be in Frazee Cemetery, rural Alexandria, Mo.

Visitation is after 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hancock County Hospice.
