Column 5Mrs. Alberta Egbers
Mrs. Alberta Egbers, formerly of Carthage, died Wednesday, July 6, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Howard Beard (Velna Kimbrough), in Porterville, Calif.
Mrs. Egbers was born in the Burnside community in 1876. She was married to Thomas Kimbrough in 1895 and lived on a farm near Burnside for nine years.
Following the death of her husband, she moved to Carthage. In 1912, she married W. D. Egbers, former Carthage grocery man. Mr. Egbers passed away in 1923.
In 1925, Mrs. Egbers moved from Carthage to Berkeley, Calif. with her two sons. She resided in the Bay area until the spring of 1956 when she moved to Porterville to make her home with her daughter.
Surviving are two sons, Harley and Shirley Kimbrough, the daughter, Mrs. Beard, and a grandson, Steven Kimbrough, all of Porterville, and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Stockton, of Berkeley.
