Column 1Miss Lela Earls
Funeral services for Miss Lela Earls, 80, of Basco were held Monday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m. in the Basco Baptist church, the Rev. Richard Blair officiating. Burial was in Basco South cemetery.
Miss Earls died Saturday morning in Memorial hospital in Carthage.
Born Oct. 1, 1878, near Basco, she was a daughter of John and Orpha Wilson Earls.
She was a member of the Basco Baptist church.
Surviving are a brother, William of Basco and 11 nieces and nephews, including Mathew E. and Garnet Earls and Mrs. A. M. Phillips of Basco and Vern Earls of Hamilton.
Seven sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
