Column 6Garnet B. Earls
Funeral services for Garnet B. Earls, 69, a former Basco resident, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Basco Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Elliott officiating. Burial was in the South Cemetery in Basco. Visitation was held in the Lamporte Funeral Home in Hamilton.
Mr. Earls died unexpectedly Saturday morning, June 14, 1969, in Hyattsville, Md.
He was born Sept. 27, 1899, in Fandon a son of Sherman and Cora Twaddle Earls. He married Miss Caroline Grayson Martin Nov. 18, 1923, in Hannibal, Mo. He was a member of the Basco Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II where he served in the Navy, and was a retired Postmaster.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Sherosh (Darlene) Laputz of Hyattsville, Md., two brothers, Orral, of Cetrus Heights, Calif., and Vern of Hamilton; one sister, Mrs. Mark (Mildred) Phillips of Basco; and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Frank.
