June 16, 1929 - January 4, 2001

Carl O. Dupy, 71, of Keokuk, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at the Montebello Healthcare Center in Hamilton.  He was born June 16, 1929, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Oscar W. and Catherine McManis Dupy.  He married Deloras Davis on September 14, 1958, at the First Presbyterian Church in Carthage.  She preceded him in death on Nov. 25, 1974.

He is survived by one son, Donald (Stacie) Dupy of Keokuk; one granddaughter, Nicole Dupy of Keokuk; a longtime companion, Lola Nye, of Keokuk; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Virginia) Mollers, and Mrs. John (Marcine) McDevitt, all of Keokuk; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Arline Dupy; and one great-niece, Debbie Guess.

He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force and served from 1951 to 1955, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.  He had been employed at the Hubinger Company in Keokuk for 27 years, retiring in 1991.  He was a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk and had been an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for the last 17 years.  He liked to travel and enjoyed camping and fishing.

Services were held Jan. 8, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating.  Burial and flag presentation was in the Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage.
