Quite a number from here attended the funeral of Mrs. Bennie Duffy at Ft. Green, Sunday. There is universal sorrow for the young husband who is left to care for two small children.
Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Duffy, Mr. and Mrs. Jno. S. Duffy, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hull, Mrs. Margaret Pennock, all of Carthage, and Mr. and Mrs. Murray Pennock, of Burnside, attended the funeral.

Column 2Friday evening, Aug. 4, this community received the sad news of the death of Mrs. Bennie Duffy, of Munroe county, Mo. Jessie Lena Mull was born at this place March 26, 1871, and died Aug. 4, 1893 making her age 22 years, 4 months, 8 days. She was married March 29, 1888 to S. B. Duffy, one of Webster's best young men. In 1891 she accompanied by her husband moved to Munroe county, Mo., and has resided there ever since. She was a constant worker in the Sabbath school and church, and died trusting in the Lord. She leaves to mourn her loss the husband, two small children, an aged father and mother, three brothers and two sisters, besides a host of other relatives and friends. The remains arrived at this place Saturday, after which the funeral was held on Sunday a.m., at the M. E. Church conducted by Rev. Newland, of Tennessee, Ill., assisted by Rev. Bascomb, of this place. The remains were followed by a large concourse of people to the quiet cemetery of Majorville.
