Jerry W. Duffy, 64, of Dallas City, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
He was born Dec. 1, 1943, in Peoria, a son of Maynard and Alma Jean Zern Duffy. On July 31, 1965, he married Mary R. Kuntz in Burlington, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Rusty Duffy of Dallas City and Mike (Melanie) Duffy of Roseville; four grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, David Duffy.
He worked at J. I. Case Co. in Burlington for 36 years, retiring in 1997. For the past 11 years he served as the Dallas City City Marshall and was a deputy marshall for many years prior. He was a member of the UAW Local 807 and was active in the United Way.
Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. Rev. Larry Menschel officiated. Burial followed in the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City.
A memorial fund has been established for the Dallas City Fire Department or the Lomax Ambulance Service.
