CARTHAGE, Ill. -- Harlan Creston Duffy, 66, of 102 Prairie Ave. in Carthage, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 3, 1988) in Carthage Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Duffy was born June 15, 1921, in Fountain Green Township, a son of Robert and Hazel Sears Duffy. He married Margie Phillips Oct. 1, 1941, in Yuma, Ariz. She survives.
Mr. Duffy owned and operated a small engine business in Carthage. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Hubbard of Carthage and Mrs. Neil (Vickie) Marshall of Nauvoo; four grandchildren; a foster grandchild; a great-grandchild; a foster great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, a daughter and a brother, Gilbert.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Lamporte Funeral Home in Carthage by the Rev. Charles Ferguson. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. V.F.W. Post 5117 will conduct military services.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today with the family meeting friends from 7 to 9 tonight.
