Page 66Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church last Wednesday afternoon, July 15 for Silas Nathan Dorothy, who passed away in Peoria July 13, aged 72 years, 5 months and 25 days. Mr. Dorothy was born in Fountain Green township Jan. 18th, 1859 and spent many of the younger years of his life in this vicinity where he was then well known. However he has been away from here for many years so that many of his old friends have now passed on and only a few are now left in this community to mourn with the relatives the passing of an old friend and neighbor. Of the immediate family there remains only one brother, Perry Dorothy, of Aledo, several other brothers and sisters having passed on before him in death. The funeral services were in charge of the Presbyterian minister from Aledo, with burial in the Fountain Green cemetery. We extend sympathy to this one surviving brother as well as to the host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
