.Among the departures are two who have gone to that "bourne from which no traveler returns." One, Mrs. Gibson Dorothy, a loving wife and mother after weeks of intense suffering, was released last night. The fifty-three years of her life abound in good works. She leaves a husband, two sons and one daughter to mourn her loss. The funeral sermon will be delivered tomorrow, at 11 o'clock A. M., by the Rev. T. M. Walker.
The other, a young maiden, just at the dawn of a glorious womanhood, surrounded by a large circle of friends, received the summons to "come up higher," Meekly was the summons obeyed. Annie, -- sweet Annie Huston! All knew and loved her! At the early age of nineteen her eyes were closed to all the beauties of this earth and opened to the glories of that unknown kingdom. Her death was the first break in the family circle, and it seems as though the purest, brightest link had been taken. The only daughter left at home, how her sunny face and girlish presence about the house will be missed by brothers and parents. But he who was "a nearer one still and a dearer one yet, than all other," how blasted his bright hopes and fond expectations. Soon to become a happy bride, none could guess that so soon, death would imprint his kiss upon her forehead and claim her for his own. Her remains were conveyed to the Majorville cemetery, after the funeral discourse at the Presbyterian church here. The large attendance at the funeral showed the high respect in which her memory was held by her young friends and truly, "the good that she hath done will live after her," in their hearts, for many years.
