Clarice E. Dorothy, 78, Springfield, formerly of Carthage, died May 25, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
She was born Sept. 30, 1904 in Hancock County, a daughter of Thomas and Blanche Noland Markey. She married Coy C. Dorothy Sr. May 26, 1923 in Carthage.
She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Springfield.
Surviving are her husband, one son, Coy C. Dorothy Jr., Hamilton; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Lohman, West Point, Iowa and Betty Dorothy; two sisters, Mrs. George (Thelma) Edwards, Charleston and Mrs. Eldon (Nora) Griffith, Good Hope; two brothers, Wendell Markey, Tennessee and Dale Markey, Hamilton; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, four brothers and two grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Rev. Francis White officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
