Column 1James Dill, son of Reuben and Millissa Dill, was born in Jefferson Co., Ia., Feb. 21, 1842 and died Feb. 21, 1902 at his home in Joetta. He leaves to mourn his departure two brothers, two sisters, a number of nephews and nieces besides a great many friends. His brothers and sisters are as follows: Roland, of Oklahoma, Solomon, of near Carthage, Mrs. Millissa Johnson and Mrs. Malinda Belknap, of Hancock. Mr. Dill has been afflicted for several years but has been able to be about until about two weeks ago when inflammation of the bowels with a complication of other diseases, caused his death. He has lived in this vicinity for several years and had a large circle of friends. The funeral services were held at his home here Sunday, Feb. 23, at 10 o'clock a. m. conducted by Rev. L. R. Sherman, of Blandinsville, after which the remains were interred in the family burying ground south of this place. The large and sympathizing audience gave testimony to the esteem and respect in which he was held.
