BRIEF ILLNESS
ENDS IN DEATH

MRS. DIETZ IS
SUMMONED AT
HOSPITAL HERE

Mrs. Adaline Steele Dietz died at the St. Joseph's hospital last night at 8 o'clock after a lingering illness over the last few years.  She had been seriously ill for only the last 19 days.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Lenover she was born near Rushville, Ill., May 3, 1884, and had lived in Keokuk for the last 30 years.

She was united in marriage with James Steele October 30, 1884, who preceded her in death March 18, 1920.  January 15, 1923, she married Frank Dietz who also preceded her in death June 2, 1936.

She was a faithful member of the Second Presbyterian church and was a devoted mother, being very fond of children and loved by all who knew her.

One daughter preceded her in death in infancy and surviving are five sons, Theodore of Wayland, Mo., Clifford of Croton, Frank, Gailard and Calvin, all of Keokuk; one brother, Ben Lenover of Rushville; a sister, Mrs. Callie Smedley, also of Rushville; two step-children, Mrs. Robert Armstrong and George Steele, both of Rushville; 24 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral services will be held from the Brunat Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Mrs. Adeline Dietz.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Adeline Steele Dietz were held from the Brunat Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  The Rev. W. P. Hanson officiated at the services and sang "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," "Life's Railroad to Heaven" and "Going Down the Valley."  Miss Emily Hanson was the accompanist.  Pallbearers were T. A., J. C., E. F., G. L., C. H., and E. S. Steele.  Burial was in the Buena Vista cemetery.
