O. B. Dickinson

Funeral services for Olaf B. Dickinson of Rt. 1, Carthage were held at 2 p.m. July 8 in the Neiser Funeral Home in Carthage, the Rev. John N. Keller, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Carthage, officiating.  Casket bearers were William Hayes, Merlin Gibson, Max Walker, Laverne Mitchell, Robert Carl, and Ralph Hoffman.  Burial was in Moss Ridge cemetery in Carthage.

Mr. Dickinson was found dead in his home Wednesday afternoon, July 6.

Born in Hancock County Oct. 11, 1891, he was a son of John and Julia Ewing Dickinson.  He first was married to Goldie Boston who died in 1945.  Later he married Edith Johnson, who also preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 1966.

He was a member of the Methodist Church, the Bentley Lodge IOOF of Carthage, and was a charter member of the Hancock County Gun Club.

Surviving the a son, Glen Dickinson of Rt. 1, Carthage; a grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Barber of West Point and Miss Myrtle Dickinson of Carthage; and a brother, Galen Dickinson, Sr. of Carthage.
