Lewis DeWulf, 97, of Carman, Ill., formerly of Colona, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, in Burlington, Iowa.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Family Funeral Services, Colona. Burial is in Dayton Cemetery, Colona. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today at Family. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Edford Township, Ill., where he was a member.
He was born May 29, 1905, in Rock Island, the son of Augustus and Matilda Vertriest DeWulf. He married Bernice M. Lanham Aug. 24, 1936. She preceded him in death in 1992.
Lewis was a self-employed welder.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening and inventing things.
Survivors (and spouses) are daughter, Irene Foxon, Manitoba, Canada; sons, Richard (Sharon) DeWulf, Colona, and Michael (Marcella) DeWulf, Carman, Ill.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
