James O. Cozad was born Sept. 28, 1874 at Elvaston, died March 25, 1915, at his home near Warren, Mo., after a decline of many months from that dread disease tuberculosis.  He was united in marriage to Augusta Roasa, Oct. 9, 1895.  They moved to Monroe, Mo., in 1906, where they have since resided.  He leaves to mourn his death his wife and adopted son Bennie, his aged mother, six sisters and seven brothers.  His father, five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.  In childhood he made a profession of faith and united with the M. E. Church.  He was a member of the I. O. O. F., the M. W. A. and Royal Neighbors.  Funeral services were conducted at the home on Saturday afternoon and the final service was held at the Presbyterian church in Elvaston Sunday afternoon at 2 p. m., conducted by Rev. A. L. McArthur of Hamilton, assisted by Rev. H. L. Todd.  Burial in Elvaston cemetery.  Those attending the funeral from a distance were, Mr. and Mrs. Willis McCune and Mrs. Sam Webster of Warren, Mo., and Mrs. Dora Rhorbaugh of Springfield.
