Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ethel Cox, 59, of LaHarpe were held Tuesday afternoon, July 3, in the Banks Funeral home in LaHarpe with the Rev. B. L. Reed officiating. Burial was in Hillsboro cemetery near LaHarpe.
Mrs. Cox died in her home in LaHarpe Sunday morning. She had been in ill health for nine years.
Mrs. Cox was born Aug. 22, 1902, at Fountain Green, a daughter of Squire and Mattie Hunes Foster. She was married to Frank Cox in Burlington, Iowa, April 13, 1918. They lived east of LaHarpe for some time after they were married and in LaHarpe for the last 30 years. She was a member of the LaHarpe Christian church.
Surviving are her husband; her mother, of Blandinsville; five daughters, Mrs. Gerald Emery of Niota, Mrs. Lewis Lee and Mrs. Joe Benham of LaHarpe, Mrs. Dale Talbot of Lomax and Mrs. Ernest Nixon of Moline; two sisters, Miss Ada Foster of LaHarpe and Mrs. Faye Williams of Colchester; two brothers, Harold and Arthur Foster; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
