Held Last Rites For
Mrs. I. N. Cox At
Elvaston Friday

Mrs. I. N. Cox passed away at her home in Elvaston Thursday morning, April 22.

Mary Clark, daughter of Marshall Clark, was born near Ireland, Lewis county, W. Va., on March 30, 1860.  She came to Illinois in March, 1865, with her parents and her brothers and sisters, Lot, Martha, John, Ann, Marshall, Rachel, Robert and Gilbert.  A brother, William, died in Virginia at the age of two years.

She joined the Methodist church at the age of 13 and later transferred her membership to the Elvaston Presbyterian church in 1920.

On September 14, 1881, she united in marriage with I. N. Cox.  Three sons were born to them, Ellis E. Cox of Carthage; Preston C. Cox of Keokuk and Robert E. Cox, of San Francisco, Calif.

Besides the husband and three sons she leaves to mourn her death three grandsons and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church, Friday afternoon at 2:30 p. m., conducted by Rev. E. C. Lee and interment in Elvaston cemetery.
