Mrs. Ruby M. Collins, 97, of LaHarpe, died Saturday, Dec. 11 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.
She was born Dec. 10, 1896, in Blandinsville, the daughter of Francis and Flora Elesta Maharry Gilmore. She married Archie Collins on Feb. 23, 1917. He died April 21, 1963.
She is survived by three sons, Harold, Claude and Clyde Collins of LaHarpe; five daughters, Evelyn Wilson of LaHarpe, Hilda Sanders of Oak Lawn, Adeline Weast of Dahinda, Anna Lou Hayden of DeKalb and Rosella Shoemaker of Moline; 24 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Albert and Henry; three daughters, Wenona Bugerosky, Virgie Bundy and Mary Jane Collins; two sisters, six brothers, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Collins was a member of the LaHarpe Senior Citizens and the LaHarpe United Methodist Church.
Services were held today, Wednesday, at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Jon Sims officiating. Burial was held in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the LaHarpe Senior Citizens.
