Funeral services for Archie Emery Collins, 70, of LaHarpe were held Saturday afternoon, April 20, in the Radden Funeral Home in LaHarpe with the Rev. Lester Hill officiating. Burial was in the LaHarpe cemetery.
Mr. Collins died early Wednesday morning, April 17, in St. Francis hospital in Macomb. He was born Dec. 17, 1892, at LaHarpe, a son of Thomas and Lucy Carnes Collins. He was reared and educated at LaHarpe and was employed as a laborer. He was married to Ruby Gilmore Feb. 23, 1917, at Macomb. She survives.
Also surviving are six daughters, Miss Joan Collins, at home, Mrs. Anna Lou Hayden of DeKalb, Mrs. Adeline Wease of Dahinda, Mrs. Hilda Sanders of Chicago, Mrs. Winona Bugerosky of Queens, N. Y., and Mrs. Evelyn Wilson of Peoria; three sons, Claude and Harold of LaHarpe and Clyde of Burlington, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Virgie Fisher of Peoria; 25 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, a son and a grandchild.
