Funeral services for Leonard M. Coffman, 84, Rt. 1, Carthage, are tentative set for 2 p.m. Aug. 31 in the Fecht Funeral Home in Carthage. Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted by the Denver lodge.
Mr. Coffman died Monday evening, Aug. 28, 1972, in his home.
He was born May 22, 1888, at Bentley, a son of George Oscar and Cora May Martin Coffman. He married Angela Meyer June 23, 1910. He was a member of Mohammed Shrine in Peoria, Quincy Consistory, grand lecturer emeritus of Quincy Grand Lecturers Club, past district deputy of White Shrine of Jerusalem of Carthage, the Denver Masonic Lodge, Browning Eastern Star chapter in Denver, Independent Order of Odd Fellows at Bentley, Maple Grove Rebekah Lodge at Carthage. He was a former bookkeeper for Robnett-Jurgens International and John Deere and was a retired farmer.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Lorene Coffman and Mrs. Charles G. (Marjorie) Scharnhorst of Quincy and Mrs. Sheldon L. (Mary Catherine) Huston of rural Carthage; one son, Neal C. Coffman of Sacramento, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, and one brother, Chellis.
