Mrs. Angela M. Coffman, 84, of 1024½ S. Ninth was pronounced dead Thursday (April 12, 1973) at 9:35 p.m. in St. Mary Hospital. She had been under a doctor's care and in ill health for some time. She was taken to the hospital by police ambulance from her home.
Mrs. Coffman was born Oct. 18, 1888, in Quincy, a daughter of William and Crescentia Sohm Meyer. She married Leonard M. Coffman June 23, 1910, in Quincy. He died Aug. 28, 1972. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Altar Society, Third Order of St. Francis, Ladies of Charity and was an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary.
Surviving are a son, Neal C. Coffman of Sacramento, Calif.; three daughters, Lorene M. Coffman, with whom she made her home, and Mrs. C. G. (Marjorie) Scharnhorst, Sr., of Quincy and Mrs. Sheldon (Mary Catherine) Huston of Denver, Ill., and five grandchildren, Barbara Coffman of Bloomington, Ind., Chuck and Richard Scharnhorst of Quincy and John and Peter Huston of Denver.
An infant son, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. in Haugh and Son Funeral Home and at 9 in St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Philip Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
