In Pilot Grove, on Feb. 24, at 7 o'clock P. M., by Elder BRAY, Mr. DAVID C. DORT to Miss NANCY A. PATTERSON, all of this county.

ANOTHER union of worthy hearts, who send us two bright half dollars to cheer us on our way in advocating the Union of our whole country and death to fanaticism, north and south.  We wish them happiness and prosperity.

Note:  There seems to be some confusion as to who Nancy married and when.  Nancy was in fact a resident of Pilot Grove township, Hancock County, Illinois before her marriage.  The above article says she married David C. Dort on 2-24-1861, but her obit below says she married Charles Clark on 2-24-1861.

DEATH OF MRS. CLARK

Editors Ledger :-- Mrs. Nancy A. Clark, wife of Charles A. Clark, died at her home in Round Prairie township, on the 23d inst., of tubercular consumption, aged forty-six years, seventeen days.  Mrs. Clark was born in Macon county, Tennessee, February 5th, 1837.  When about ten years of age she removed with her father's family to Hancock county, Ill., where she continued to reside until the spring of 1865, when she removed to Jefferson county.  She was married February 24th, 1861, to Charles A. Clark.  Five children have been born to them, one of whom died in infancy; the others, two sons and two daughters, are living, the youngest twelve, the oldest twenty.  Mrs. Clark had been in ill health for about two years, and for five months past has been confined to her bed.  She was anxious to live, and yet not afraid to die.  Mrs. Clarke was not a professor of religion but had a firm belief in a just God.  During her illness, and several times the day she died, she called her family to her and bid them farewell, told them to be honest, true and just men and women and to remember that there was a God whom they must meet.  She was of a retiring disposition, a good neighbor, a true friend, a kind and loving wife, and lived for her home and family.
