Leroy "Lee" Clark, 64, of rural Blandinsville, died on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on Nov. 20, 1945, in Macomb, a son of Elmer and Dorothy Bloyd Clark. He married Barbara Gittings on July 12, 1966, in New Burn, N.C. She survives.
Lee is survived by two daughters, Sherrie (Travis) Weaver of Blandinsville and Stacie Mynatt of Macomb; one son, Matthew (Kari) Clark of Kewanee; 10 grandchildren, Victoria, Morgan, Carter and Regan Weaver, Hunter, Brody, Dawson and Sydney Mynatt, and Addison and Braden Clark; three sisters, Cathy Johnson of Dallas City, Patty Finch of Carthage, and Brenda Kern of Mt. Airy, N.C.; four brothers, William Clark, Ricky Markey and Richard Markey, all of Carthage, and Robert Markey Jr. of LaHarpe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer; his mother and step-father, Dorothy and Robert Markey Sr.; and one brother, Daniel Markey.
Lee was a 1963 graduate of LaHarpe High School. He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corps from November 1965 to November 1967. He raised livestock and worked part-time at Carthage Livestock, Inc. He enjoyed fishing, mushrooming, and spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Services were held on Saturday, June 5, at the LaHarpe Christian Church. Robert Tillman officiated. Burial with military rites was in the Crane Cemetery in Lomax.
A memorial fund has been established for the MDH Hospice.
