Verna Casley, 83, Denver, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003 at her home of natural causes.
She was born Aug. 10, 1920 the daughter of R.A. and Lula Ann Cox Krueger near Tuckertown. She married Leroy Casley on Oct. 29, 1938 in Keokuk.
She is survived by one daughter, Joy H. (Ronald) Smith; four grand-children and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one foster son, Oscar Casley; three brothers and two sisters.
She cleaned the First Baptist Church in Carthage where she attended for more than 30 years.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at Harmony Township Cemetery. Pastor Jim Fox officiated. A memorial fund has been established.
Printy Funeral Home of Carthage was in charge of arrangements.
