INJURIESCharles H. Carroll is Released
After Months of Illness
On Saturday.Charles Howard Carroll, who is a tenant on Ellis Cox's farm east of town, died Saturday night of injuries received last October while working on the hard road. He was 54 years, 7 months and 13 days old.
The injury was caused by a roller running over him last October, breaking an arm and causing other injuries. He leaves a wife and three children.
Coroner Geo. T. Moore was called, who empanelled a jury, who rendered a verdict -- We the jury, find he came to his death partly from accident on hard road east of Carthage, Ill., followed by abscess of the lung and heart tissue.
Charles H. Carroll was the son of Thomas E. and Louisa Carroll and was born in Louisville, Ky., on Aug. 13th, 1870, and passed away at his home in Hancock township, Hancock county, Illinois, March 28th, 1925.
He moved to Missouri with his parents when but a child and then to Illinois, when he was a young man.
He was married to Miss Sarah Louise Stotlar Sept. 22, 1897. To this union were born four girls and two boys, Nellie May, Florence, Myrtle, William Thomas, Harvey Edwards and Bertha C., all of whom are living except Nellie May, who passed before the father at the tender age of one year and fifteen days of age, also one brother, three sisters, and his father and mother have gone on before. He leaves to mourn his departure the beloved wife and five children, one brother, three sisters, one grandchild and many other relatives.
He will be sadly missed in his home, and community, as he was a companionable and loving father as well as a most agreeable neighbor, and friend of all who knew him.
He united with the M. P. Church in his boyhood and remained a faithful member to the end.
The funeral of Charles Carroll was held in Oak Grove church Monday afternoon at 2:30 p. m., Rev. J. W. Porter of Carthage, officiating.
