HAMILTON, Ill. -- Steven B. Carlton, 52, of Hamilton, Ill., died at 8:10 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2007, at his home.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1955, in Keokuk, the son of Tressler Bennett and Shirley Oneita Potter Carlton.
He had been employed installing siding and windows for Tri-State Window & Pool. He loved to fish and be on the river. He enjoyed NASCAR and football.
Survivors include his long time companion, Sherry L. Bennett of Hamilton; a daughter, Leah A. Bennett of Keokuk; four brothers, Ronald Carlton, Daniel Carlton and his wife, Cathy, and Richard Carlton and his wife, Debra, all of Keokuk, and Randy Carlton and his wife, Ramona, of Hamilton; a sister, Tina Hamilton and her husband, Rick, of Hamilton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and Thomas Carlton; a sister, Faith Shotts; a niece, Miranda Shotts; a nephew, Travis Rettig; and his grandparents.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in DeJong's Funeral Home, Keokuk.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the family.
