Jerry Carle

Funeral services for Jerry Carle of the Webster community were held Tuesday, May 25, at 2 p.m. in the Kilgore Memorial Home, the Rev. C. J. Rediger and the Rev. James Piper officiating.  Mrs. Ralph Denison was the organist and Dr. M. H. Corbridge sang "Good Night and Good Morning" and "In the Garden."  Casket bearers were Brice Latherow, William Sliger, Edwin Meyers, Clifton Duffy, Albert Allen, and Robert Tillman.  Burial was in McConnell cemetery in Fountain Green.

Mr. Carle died Saturday, May 22, in Memorial hospital after six months serious illness.  Much of those six months was spent in hospitals.

Born in Hancock township Sept. 1, 1900, he was a son of Jerry and Bessie Estes Carle.  On March 8, 1922 he was married to Gladys Parsons, who survives.

He attended Oak Grove school and Oak Grove Christian church as a youth.  In later years he attended the Webster Community church.  He was a farmer and also worked as a well digger.

Surviving with the widow are three daughters, Mrs. Otis (Junita) Manley and Mrs. Thomas (Dorothy) Winking of Quincy, and Mrs. William (Maxine) Johnson of Carthage; three sons, Arthur of Fountain Green, Lowell (Jack) of Macomb, and Harvey of Webster; four sisters, Mrs. Goldie Lemley, Mrs. Mary Montgomery, and Mrs. Maggie Bloyd, all of Colchester, and Mrs. Dollie Icenogle of Birmingham; four brothers, Otto of New Boston, Alfred of Plymouth, and George and Francis of Carthage; 20 grandchildren; and three-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and two sisters.
