Betty Jo, youngest daughter of Clifford B. and Elva Smith Carle, was born in Durham township, near LaHarpe, on May 25, 1934, and passed away on Tuesday evening at 9:40 o'clock, at the age of 10 months and 22 days.
Little Betty Jo was like a ray of bright sunshine in the home and was dearly loved and cared for by each member of her family, but she contracted a severe case of whooping cough which developed into pneumonia and after a few days, during which time she was given every care and attention, she quietly passed away at the Marietta Phelps hospital in Macomb.
She leaves to mourn her departure her parents, five sisters and five brothers, namely: Willard, Ida Marie, Bernice, Junior, William, Doris, Hazel, Clifton and Robert at home, and Mrs. Dorotha Stoneking of near Plymouth, Ill.
