MAXINE CAMPBELL

July 19, 1917 -- Dec. 29, 2002

Maxine Campbell, 85, Colchester, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.

She was born July 19, 1917, in Hancock County, the daughter of Chester and Ida Hough Mote.  She married Bernard Campbell on March 12, 1935, in Macomb.  He died Oct. 1, 1984.

She is survived by one son, Robert Campbell of Hampton, NH.; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Aleen Gray of Phoenix, Ariz.; and one brother, William Mote of Elba, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, James W. Campbell; and two sisters, Betty Percy and Doris Collins.

She was a homemaker and a farm wife.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 2, at Jones' Mortuary in ColchesterRev. Mark Hanson officiated.  Burial followed in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester.

Memorials may be made to Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage.

Maxine Campbell

Maxine Campbell, 85, rural route Colchester, died at 2:18 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at Memorial Hospital, Carthage.  She was born July 19, 1917, in Hancock County, the daughter of Chester and Ida (Hough) Mote.  She married Bernard Campbell March 12, 1935, in Macomb.  He preceded her in death Oct. 1, 1984.

She is survived by one son, Robert Campbell, Hampton, N.H.; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, William Mote, Elba, Ala.; and one sister, Elizabeth Aleen Gray, Phoenix, Ariz.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James W. Campbell; and two sisters, Betty Percy and Doris Collins.

She was a homemaker and farm wife.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at Jones' Mortuary, Colchester, with the Rev. Mark Hanson officiating.  Burial was in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Colchester.
