Mrs. C. Callihan

Funeral services for Mrs. Chester Callihan, 71, of Webster were held Sunday, April 12, in the Fountain Green Presbyterian church, the Rev. William Tammen officiating.  Miss Janice Lenix, accompanied by Miss Linda Latherow sang "Whispering Hope" and "Ivory Palaces."  Pallbearers were Carl Hasten, Keith Blythe, Arthur Spangler, Charles Spangler, Willard Crose and Robert Sharpe.  Burial was in McConnell cemetery.

Mrs. Callihan died suddenly early Friday morning in her home.

Born Nov. 4, 1887, in Majorville she was a daughter of Lorenzo and Margaret Dye Conn.  She was married in Webster May 2, 1907 to Chester Callihan, who survives.

Well-known for her musical ability she was a member of the Fountain Green Presbyterian church which she served as both deacon and elder.

Surviving with the widower are a daughter, Mrs. LaVerne Parsons of Webster; two grandchildren, Ross Byron and Sandra Parsons, a sister, Mrs. Ruby Johnson of Cairo, Mo.; two brothers, George of Blandinsville and Perry of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
