Funeral services for Chester Reed Callihan, 84, Webster, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Neiser Funeral Home in Carthage with the Rev. C. J. Rediger officiating. Burial was in McConnell Cemetery near Fountain Green.
Mr. Callihan died Friday, June 9, 1972, at Keokuk Convalescent Center.
He was born Feb. 4, 1888, in Webster, a son of Abraham Lincoln and Edith Reed Callihan. He married Ethel Conn May 8, 1907, in the Fountain Green parsonage. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and had served as deacon and elder, and had farmed in that area all of his life.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ross (LaVerne) Parsons, Carthage; one sister, Mrs. Harry (Agnes) Spangler, Carthage; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
