Celebrate Golden
Wedding DateJoetta. -- Mr. and Mrs. James Burrow, prominent citizens and successful farmers, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Friday, March 13, with open house. There was a good crowd despite inclement weather. Many were disappointed in not being able to attend. They received flowers and 55 cards. A pot-luck dinner was enjoyed at the noon hour.

On Thursday Mr. and Mrs. James Burrow held open house from 12 to 9 p. m., in honor of their 55th wedding anniversary. Despite the bad day there was a good attendance of friends and relatives to congratulate them. A dinner was served. Mr. and Mrs. Burrow treated with candy bars and cigars. They are very prosperous farmers starting while young with good managing and sacrifices to establish a good home. Many would do well by their advice.

For Majorville Man
Are Held ThursdayFuneral services for James P. Burrow, 85, of Majorville were held Thursday afternoon, Aug. 18, in the Colchester Christian church with Rev. Ernest Louderman officiating. Burial was in Mt. Auburn cemetery in Colchester.
Mrs. Eva Burford sang "Peace in the Valley" and "The Last Mile of the Way" accompanied by Mrs. Bertha Huddleson.
Pallbearers were: Frank Peck, Orville White, Harley Parker, Leland Keithley, Leland Hobart and Everett Moon.
Burrow a lifetime resident of Majorville vicinity, died Monday evening, Aug. 15, in Memorial hospital in Carthage after an extended illness. He was the son of William and Rachel Dye Burrow and was born in Hancock township, April 9, 1870. On March 13, 1892 he was married to Jennie A. Simmons. To this union one daughter was born, Inez M. Campbell, now deceased. Surviving with the widow are 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Eve Hungate, Ames, Iowa, Mrs. Bertha Hainline, Cambridge, Iowa, and Mrs. Bessie Olson of Spokane, Wash.; two brothers, Morris Burrow of California and Lyman Burrow of Colchester.
A grandson, Bernard Campbell, was reared in the home and he and his wife and sons, Bobby and Jimmie have been a great comfort to Mr. and Mrs. Burrow in their declining years.
Burrow was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge. He was a farmer as long as his health would permit.
Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: William Hunghate of Ames, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Gale Long and daughter of Beloit, Wis., and Mrs. Minnie Ingram of Abingdon.
