Funeral services for Walton Burns, 58, 428 S. Washington, Carthage, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Kilgore - Palmer Memorial Home in Carthage with the Rev. Leslie R. Stewart officiating. Graveside services will be held at noon in the Bushnell Cemetery in Bushnell.
Mr. Burns died Tuesday morning, Aug. 1, 1972, at his home.
He was born March 10, 1914, in Carthage, a son of James J. and Martha Ella Boston Burns. He lived all of his life in Carthage. He was a meter reader and storeroom clerk for CIPS and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He married Edna Birdsell July 26, 1949, in Keokuk, Ia.
Surviving with his wife are two brothers, James Burns of Moline and Joe Burns of Orofind, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
