Wendell E. Burg, 83, LaHarpe, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at his home.
He was born near LaHarpe on Sept. 5, 1918, the son of Chester and Mary A. Conkey Burg. On Jan. 10, 1940, he married Jane Ailes in Burlington, Iowa. She died Sept. 19, 2000.
He is survived by two sons, Bryon (Catherine) Burg of Stronghurst and Max (Jan) Burg of LaHarpe; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Byler of Wickenberg, Ariz.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Union Church.
