Wayne William Bryant, 58, of 1222 South Seventh, died 4:55 a.m., Thursday, at Graham Hospital, after an illness of nine days.
He was born Jan. 7, 1915 in Bible Grove, Mo., to William H. and Charity Hatfield Bryant. He married Ellen Mortimer, March 17, 1936 in Kahoka. He was a resident of Keokuk since 1943 and was employed as a lubrication engineer for the Foote Mineral Co. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Local 148 of the Operating Engineers.
Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife; four sons, Larry of Irving, Tex.; Lonnie of Elvaston; Melvin of Keokuk; and Kenneth of Hamilton; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Wanda) Glasgow of Keokuk; Mrs. Jean Carlson of Keokuk; Mrs. William (Janice) Hayden of Alexandria; 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Shillak of Keokuk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, two brothers, a son and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, at DeJong's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Virgil V. Reeve officiating. Burial will in the Buena Vista Cemetery.
