ALEXANDRIA, Mo. -- William O. Bryant, 84, of Alexandria, Mo., died at 6:40 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Keokuk Area Hospital.
He was born Oct. 12, 1912, in Alexandria, Mo., to Oscar and Florence Keoley Bryant. He married Ella J. Haggerty on Sept. 17, 1938, in Ottumwa, Iowa. She survives.
Other survivors include: his children, Mrs. J. C. (Nancy) Bailey of Eureka Springs, Ark., David Bryant of Alexandria, and Mrs. Murry (Anne) Schock of Kahoka, Mo.; one brother, Maurice Bryant of Alexandria; one sister, Aileen Griffith of Keokuk; and three grandchildren, David Bailey, Jennifer Schock and Bill Bryant.
He was preceded in death by a sister and one grandson.
He was a lifelong resident of the Alexandria community and was retired from farming. He was a member of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church his entire life, and had served as treasurer, deacon, elder, and trustee.
He also was a member of St. Francisville Lodge #588 A.F. & A.M., of Wayland, Mo.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Alexandria Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. David Castrodale officiating.
Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.
Visitation is today at DeJong's Funeral Home, with family meeting friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
