February 16, 1961Funeral Services Yesterday For Arthur Bryant; Burial Was At Greensburg
Arthur Bryant of northeast of Baring died at 9 o'clock Sunday evening, Feb. 12, 1961, at the Gibson Hospital in Edina, where he had been a patient since in the morning. He had not been well for the last six months.
Funeral services were at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the chapel of the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home here by the Rev. Archie Cooper of Kirksville. Burial was in the cemetery at Greensburg. Mr. Bryant was 62 years old.
Mrs. Bryant and a son, Thomas D. Bryant, of three miles northeast of Baring and three daughters survive. The daughters are Mary Evelyn, Mrs. Ben F. Mazurek, of Hartford, Conn., Barbara, Mrs. Nelson Hayward, of Keokuk, Iowa, and Betty Jane, Mrs. George Fisher of Muscatine, Iowa. There are also left fifteen grandchildren.
Thomas Arthur Bryant, one of the two sons of Thomas Francis and Angelia Patterson Bryant, was born May 24, 1898, at Bible Grove. He was married to Martha Ann Martin in Nickelton, Macon County, on Dec. 25, 1923.
He was preceded in death by a 3-month-old son, Billy Dean; his mother, 68 years old, who died Dec. 19, 1946; by his father, 77, Dec. 13, 1953, and a brother, Claude Bryant, 28, July 9, 1933.
