This may not be the correct obituary for Josiah Bryant because of discrepancies. According to his probate records, Josiah died on December 8 (not November 8), and if he died on November 8, why would his obit be published five weeks later. Also, he was aged about 45 years (not 35 years). However, he did have two daughters. And, Josiah and Joseph are interchangeable as evidenced by census records and his marriage license.

Joseph Bryant, a highly respected citizen of this township, aged about 35 years, died on Nov. 8 after a brief illness, leaving the wife and two little daughters to mourn his loss. His neighbors regarded him as an honest man and useful citizen. He was buried at the old Baptist cemetery on the 9th after an able and affecting sermon by Dr. Booz, at the church.
