Alfred Bryant

MONTROSE -- A funeral for Alfred H. Bryant, 71, of Montrose, who died Sunday at his home, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the DeJong Funeral Home in Keokuk with the brobill Hauser officiating.

Burial will be in the Campgrounds Cemetery in Memphis, Mo.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday.  Relatives will meet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

He was born May 9, 1908, the son of Walter and Ethel Converse Bryant.  He married Blanch Virginia Hatfield in 1926.

He was a painter and was employed by the Hubinger Company for 17 years.  He was a member of the Hubinger credit union and the labor union.

Survivors include his wife, Blanch; sons Leonard of Montrose, Richard of Keokuk and William of Argyle; brother Riley of Keokuk; brothers-in-law Vearl McComb of Croton and Carl Hatfield of Council, Idaho;  sisters-in-law Letha Simmons, Maxine Beuhl and Leota Gripp, all of Davenport; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and a son.
