Samuel Hutton Brockway, son of Jessie and Katherine Brockway, was born at LaHarpe, Ill., April 1, 1857.
He was married Dec. 18, 1877 to Miss Arrilla Mustain, of Blandinsville, Ill.
To this union were born six children, four of whom are still living.
Mr. Brockway passed away at the LaHarpe Hospital at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 29, after a brief illness of about three weeks, at the age of 72 years 6 months 28 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and four children, Mrs. Frank Collins, LaHarpe, Ill., Mrs. Floyd Johnson, LaHarpe, Ill., Wendell Brockway, Kansas City, Mo., Jessie Brockway, Denver, Colo., nineteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, besides others more distant relatives and friends also mourn his death.
Mr. Brockway has always made LaHarpe his home. He was a good husband and father and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Funeral services were conducted at the Stuckey Funeral home at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, 1929, Rev. A. C. Lambert officiated. Interment was made in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
