dies today;
funeral MondayMrs. Rosa Bell Briggs, 88, of Keokuk Route 1 died at 9:10 a.m. today in the Clark Nursing Home.
Born October 20, 1875 in Des Moines, she was the daughter of David and Lida Brown Edmondson. On January 1, 1899 in Kahoka she married John W. Briggs.
She was a member of the Methodist church at Kahoka.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Viola Daw of Keokuk, Mrs. Edna Jones of Bloomfield, Mrs. Mabel Kemper of Montrose and Mrs. Frances Smith of North Bend, Ore., a son William of Keokuk, 19 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and a great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband February 19, 1949, by two daughters and a son.
The funeral will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in DeJong's Funeral Home with the Rev. Ellsworth L. Woods officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
