GEO. M. BRANDON

DIED -- At his home one-half mile south of Fountain Green, at 6:30 o'clock p. m., Saturday, Jan. 13th, 1900, GEO. M. BRANDON, aged 57 years, 11 months and 26 days.

Mr. Brandon was born four miles north of Macomb and has always resided in McDonough and Hancock counties.  He enlisted in Co. A 118th Ill. Inf. and served through the war of the Rebellion.  He was married to Miss Laura Geddes in 1871, who together with four children survive him and mourn a kind and loving husband and father.  He was a member of the Presbyterian church and an elder for many years.  He providentially cared for his loved ones in the coming years by a membership in the Woodmen, Home Forum and a policy in the Bankers Life.  He was a man of practical good sense, a kind and considerate friend and neighbor and his death is a loss to the church, society and community.  The funeral was held Tuesday at 11 o'clock and was largely attended, attesting the high esteem in which he was held by those who knew him.
