Services For Former Plymouth
Man at Macomb Assembly
of God Church

Funeral services for the Rev. David L. (Roy) Boyd, 65, former Plymouth man, were held Friday afternoon, at 1:30 at the Macomb Assembly of God church, the Rev. F. H. Toliver, the Rev. Oliver Knell and the Rev. Harry Waterman officiating. Rev. Boyd was minister of the Assembly of God church at Industry which he organized.  During his ministry a new church was built.  He passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1964 at McDonough District hospital in Macomb.

Burial for Rev. Boyd was in St. Marys cemetery, northwest of Plymouth.

In Memoriam

Born May 10, 1899 near LaHarpe, Rev. Boyd was the son of the late Thomas and Martha Lester Boyd.  He later moved to the Plymouth - St. Marys community where he attended school.

On Oct. 30, 1918 he was married to Miss Roxie Duncan of Plymouth.  In 1938 they moved to Macomb and in 1950 they located in Springfield, Mo., where Mr. Boyd attended school in preparation of becoming a minister.

In 1955 he accepted the pastorate of the Industry Assembly of God church, which he served until his demise.  He was also employed for the REA Express company in Macomb for a number of years.  He held the highest regard of all who knew him.

Surviving are the widow, two daughters and one son, Mrs. Dorothy Cuba of Macomb, Mrs. Elsie Mae Lair of Industry, and the Rev. Roger L. Boyd of Gibson City; four grandchildren; two brothers, E. L. Boyd of Plymouth and Clyde Boyd of Macomb, and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Hess of Macomb.
