C. Wayne Boston

Funeral services for Charles Wayne Boston of near Macomb were held Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 2:30 p.m. in the Kilgore Memorial Home, the Rev. Elmer L. Castrodale, pastor of the Carthage Presbyterian church, officiating.  Mrs. Ralph Denison was the organist and Dr. M. H. Corbridge sang "The End of a Perfect Day."  Casket bearers were George Yetter, Robert Allen, Norman Heany, Donald Welch, Ben Appeldorn and Richard McKee.  Honorary casket bearers were Joe Powell, Raymond Ancelet, Duane Furrow, Russell Prunty, Ellis Lawson and Donald Campbell.

Mr. Boston died Sunday, Oct. 22, in McDonough District hospital after an illness of one hour.

Born June 18, 1924 on a farm southeast of Carthage, he was a son of Charles Gaylord and Beulah Ogilvie Boston.  On Jan. 20, 1943 he was married to Ethel Marie Miller in Wichita Falls, Texas.

He attended East Union school and was graduated from Carthage high school in 1942.  In Nov. 1942 he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served three years.

After the war he and his wife lived on a farm southeast of Carthage for about nine years.  They then built a home in Carthage where they lived until August of 1961, when they  purchased a farm near Macomb.

For the past four years he has been associated with Milk Products company of Macomb, where he was co-manager at the time of his death.

He was a member of the Carthage Presbyterian church.

Surviving with the widow are a six-month-old son, Curtis Wayne; his mother of Carthage; a sister, Mrs. Bernard (Ruth) Hardesty of Franklin Park; three nephews, James, David and Alan Hardesty, and a niece, Joyce Hardesty.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral Tuesday P. M.

Charles Wayne Boston, who was born June 18, 1924 in Carthage, Ill., departed life Sunday, Oct. 22, 1961 at Macomb, IllMr. Boston was quite well known in the Plymouth community.  He was the son of Charles Gaylord and Beulah Ogilvie Boston.  His father is deceased and his mother survives.

For six years he had been associated with Milk Products Co., of Macomb, and drove a milk pickup truck through the Plymouth, Augusta and Bowen area, making many friends by his courteous manner and fair dealings.

Three months ago he was promoted to co-manager of the Macomb plant.  At that time he purchased a farm at the edge of Macomb and moved his family there.

In January 1943 he was married to Ethel Miller in Wichita Falls, Texas.  He leaves in addition to his mother and wife, a six months old son, Curtis Wayne, and one sister, Mrs. Bernard Hardisty of Franklin Park.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps.

Mr. and Mrs. John Douglas and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Shelor of Plymouth attended the funeral services for Mr. Boston held Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 24 at 2:30 in the Kilgore Memorial home in CarthageMr. Boston was a cousin of Mrs. Douglas and Mrs. Shelor.

Rev. Elmer L. Castrodale officiated in the services.  Mrs. Ralph Denison was organist and Dr. M. H. Corbridge was soloist.

Interment was in Moss Ridge cemetery.  Casket bearers were Donald Welch, Robert Allen, George Letter, Norman Heaney, Richard McKee, Ben Appeldorn.  Honorary casket bearers were Joe Powell, Raymond Ancelet, Duane Furrow, Russell Prunty, Ellis Lawson and Donald Campbell.
