C. Vivian Boston

C. Vivian Boston, 86, of Bowen, Ill. passed away at 2:44 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2001 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.  She was born March 29, 1915 in Hull, Ill. the daughter of Elmer Claude and Elsie Viola (Lemen) Wright.  She first married Shirley McMahan.  He preceded her in death.  She later married John Boston on October 20, 1994 in the Bowen Christian Church.  He survives.

She was a graduate of Maplewood High School in Camp Point.  She was a retired Nurses Aid having worked in the Carthage Memorial Hospital and the Hancock County Shelter Care Home.  She was a devoted member of the Bowen Christian Church and served as Sunday School teacher for over 55 years.  She was a member of the Bowen American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by: three granddaughters, Krista McMahan of Peoria, Ill., Karma McMahan of Boulder, Colo. and Kolette McMahan-Edgar of LeClaire, Iowa; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Dittmer of Quincy, Ill., Ione Wright of Golden, Ill.; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Monte D. and Marion McMahan and a brother, Elmer Wright.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2001 in the Bowen Christian Church in Bowen with Rev. Tom Mehaffy officiating.  Burial was in the Bowen Cemetery.  Visitations were held at the Bowen Christian Church one hour prior to the time of services Saturday.  Memorials may be made to the Bowen American Legion Auxiliary.  The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta was in charge of services.
