CHRISTMAS DAYPassing Of Retired Farmer At-
tributed To Heart Ailment;
Final Rites SundayHarve Bloyd, retired farmer, was called to peaceful and final rest at 4:30 a. m. on Christmas morning, Dec. 25, 1959. Life ended at McDonough District hospital, Macomb, Ill., where he had entered a short time previously. His passing is attributed to a heart ailment from which he had suffered some time. He had however been able to walk downtown and visit with friends until a short time before entering the hospital. His was an affable personality.
Final Rites Sunday
Final rites for Mr. Bloyd were held Sunday afternoon at 2 at the Cookson Funeral home in Plymouth with the Rev. Owen Hamilton, Baptist minister officiating.
Mrs. Fred Young played two favorite hymns, "Precious Name" and "The Lord is My Shepherd."
The floral tributes were lovely. Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery, northwest of Plymouth.
In Memoriam
Harve E. Bloyd, son of Wilson R. and Laura Dye Bloyd, was born March 13, 1880 in Hancock Township, Hancock County, Illinois. His entire life, except about seven years, was spent in the Oak Grove community where he attended school and where he was baptized and became a member of the Oak Grove Christian church.
He followed the carpenter trade and farmed. He was proficient in each capacity. Mr. Bloyd never married and for a number of years he shared the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Scott and family. In more recent years he shared the Plymouth home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Alexander where he was cared for during his declining years. He departed life Dec. 25, 1959.
His parents and two brothers, James and George are deceased. He leaves some distant cousins.
Mr. Bloyd loved nature and was an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman. He was devoted to children and animals and was ever kind in his attitude toward others.
