Leona Bivens, 89, of Meadville, PA, formerly of Carthage, died at 2:30 a.m. October 17, 2000, at the Wesbury Methodist Retirement Community in Meadville. She was born in Hancock County on August 4, 1911, the daughter of Bert and Blanche Kimbrough White.
Survivors include three sons, Dr. Richard Bivens of Westfield, NY, Bert Bivens of Bellingham, WA, and Loren Bivens of Simi Valley, CA; eight grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, Bruce, Dominick, Dashiel, and Jasper Bivens, Susan Frederickson and Diane Ross and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Olive Earls and Marie Carle and one brother, Leonard White.
She was employed as a bookkeeper for the First National Bank of Carthage for 25 years. She enjoyed gardening.
Services will be held at Neiser-Printy Funeral Home in Carthage at 2 p.m. on October 28, 2000. Family will meet friends from 1 p.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in the Basco South Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to Neiser-Printy Funeral, 603 Walnut St., Carthage, IL 62321 for either the American Heart Association or Memorial Hospital in Carthage.

MEADVILLE, Penn. -- Leona Bivens, 89, of Meadville, Penn., formerly of Carthage, Ill., died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2000, at the Wesbury Methodist Retirement Community in Meadville.
She was born on Aug. 4, 1911, in Hancock County, the daughter of Bert and Blanche Kimbrough White.
Survivors include: three sons, Dr. Richard Bivens of Westfield, N.Y., Bert Bivens of Bellingham, Wash., and Loren Bivens of Simi Valley, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, Bruce, Dominick, Dashiel and Jasper Bivens, Susan Frederickson and Diane Ross; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Neiser-Printy Funeral Home in Carthage.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.
